A pit of loose shelled corn under the shelter, free to everyone. The one they ask about all year.
How it works
Tickets
Buy a strip when you arrive
Most rides and games run on tickets, sold at the Ticket Shack just inside the grounds. Buy a strip up front and the kids can work their way around at their own pace instead of walking back for more halfway through the afternoon.
A few things cost nothing at all — the Corn Pit is free, and so is the music. Everything here is run by parish volunteers, so bring a little patience for the busy stretch after the noon rush.

Everything to do
The Big Slide
Climb the tower and ride the metal down. Tunnels and monkey bars alongside.
Putt Putt Golf
A short course behind the white picket fence. Three tickets, or $3 at the gate.
The Animal Barn
Goats and sheep bedded down in the straw, happy to be visited.
Toddler Area
A hay bale maze, tunnels and small slides for the little ones, fenced off from the big kids.
Games
Ring toss, and a gravity wagon rebuilt into a two-hoop basketball shoot.
The Straw Barn
Bales stacked into stairs and lookouts. Good luck getting them back out.
The Barrel Train
Four painted barrel cars behind a little red tractor, running loops around the grounds all afternoon.

Hay rides
Straw bales on a flat wagon behind the John Deere, out around the edge of the cornfield and back. It is the same ride it was in 1994, and nobody wants it changed.
The wagon loads near the barn and runs continuously, so there is rarely much of a wait. Grandparents ride free, same as everybody else.
On your way out
Pumpkins and mums
Laid out along the fence line by the parking field, from pie-sized up to the ones that take two people to carry, with white and green gourds mixed in.
The mums sit under the Mums For Sale sign in every color the greenhouse had. Grab both last, and know the mums go quickly on the first Sunday.
Two tickets or $2
Pumpkin painting
Pick a pumpkin, take it to the stand under the burlap banner and paint it right there. Paint, brushes and a place to set it down are all provided.
It is the quiet stop of the afternoon, and a good one for the little ones while the big kids are working through the obstacle course.
